When it comes to 4×4 suspension or lift kits, one size definitely does not fit all. With access to the latest innovations, we can provide everything you need to maximise performance and fun from your 4×4.

We offer brands including RAW 4×4 which will accommodate the everyday 4wd enthusiast who enjoys taking their 4×4 on the beach or for short off-road adventures, as well as Tough Dog, a well-known and sort after brand for the more adventurous 4wd’er.

Our knowledgeable team will be able to recommend the right kit for you and your vehicle, bases around your needs, how you use your vehicle and what you intend to use your vehicle for.

What are the benefits of suspensions or lift kits?

More commonly known as lift kit, a suspension is used to increase the bottom height of a vehicle to help access hard to reach off-road locations and provide a comfortable ride along the way. The right kit will help you get the most from your vehicle and give you confidence that your suspension can cope with everything the land will throw at it.

Fitting a lift kit to your vehicle will help reduce stress on your vehicle by increasing its height and will prevent you bottoming out on higher surfaces. While they’re essential to enjoying off-road or outback driving, lift kits are also often requested by tradies who carry heavy loads or tow a trailer. Those loads can weigh your vehicle down and cause you to bottom out on uneven surfaces or even on driveways. A lift kit will help prevent this from happening.

How do 4wd suspensions work?

A 4wd suspension is built to create more clearance when your car is on uneven ground. There’s a range of ways to do this, so here’s a whistle-stop tour of what’s available.

  • Suspension kits: 4×4 suspension kits include coil springs, tie rod ends, pitman arm, wheel hubs, idler arm, shocks and struts and ball joints. These can be used to replace or soup up your car’s suspension.
  • Coil springs: These are used to absorb shocks and bumps and minimise body roll, giving you a more comfortable ride
  • Leaf springs: Essential military kit, leaf springs are one of the best options for anyone who wants to maximize damping. These multi-layered – or leaved – springs are excellent at absorbing vertical loads and optimizing pliancy. There are 3 kinds of springs: Heavy duty shocks, extra heavy duty shocks and performance shocks.
  • Shock absorbers: Shock absorbers harness kinetic energy to control impact and rebound of your vehicle. Essentially their job is to keep your vehicle’s tyres in contact with the ground at all times, making for maximum comfort and minimum risk.
  • Steering dampers: These clever bits of kit work to add resistance to steering. This means reduced wobble and increased safety, whatever conditions you encounter
  • Torsion bars: Seemingly simple metal rods, torsion bars are integral to many 4×4 suspension systems, and work to enhance comfort even if you’re carrying a full load.
  • Strut mounts: Designed to insulate against excess tyre noise and vibration, strut mounts are a critical element of maintaining smooth and responsive steering.

FAQs

To be able to recommend the right lift kit for you, we will need to ask a few questions relating to your vehicle and what 4x4 accessories you have already installed or intend to get. Based on this information, our knowledgeable team can find the best lift kit for your individual situation.
A 4wd suspension kit is a complete package that will improve or repair your suspension. You’ll find shock absorbers, springs, and rods in a suspension package, as well as other elements specific to your vehicle.
Lifting your suspension is straightforward if you have the right kit and equipment. Simple lifting of an inch or two is possible with adjustment or the use of bolt-ons, while more ambitious lifts will need more parts, or even a full lift kit.
Things like pulling to one side, low corners, rolling, and bumps are indicators that something is amiss with your suspension. You’ll have difficulty steering, and your ride will be considerably less comfortable than it should be.
